South Bay FAQs
Are restrooms available?
There are portable toilets at the trailhead of both hikes
Is there water available?
It is always best to bring your own water and a light athletic bag to carry that and other items such as keys, cell phone, etc.
How do I drive to Lexington Reservoir Dam parking lot?
From Interstate 280 in Santa Clara County, exit CA 17 south (exit 5b). Drive south about 10 miles, then exit Bear Creek/Alma Bridge Road. At the stop sign, turn right, cross over 17, then turn left and return to 17, heading north. Stay in the right lane and exit onto Alma Bridge Road. Drive over the dam and park in the paved lot on the right side of the road.
Will we be on natural trails?
Yes, we will be in contact with some dirt so don’t wear your new white Lululemon pants. Come out ready to get dirty and have some fun. We will be on uneven terrain so wear shoes that work for off road conditions.
Will I be in direct sun?
St. Joseph’s is much more exposed to the sun than Wunderlich which is mostly shaded. Bring sunscreen and a hat if you have concerns. We hike in the morning and at sunset to avoid the heat of the day.
